Big Suit, indeed.
The work of Austrian sculptor Erwin Wurm is slated to become the next permanent exhibit at downtown St. Louis' Citygarden.

Big Suit, a nine-foot tall aluminum statue depicting an empty pink suit and white shirt (size 144), is scheduled for installation next Friday, September 30.

Wurm's work often portrays everyday objects, including clothes, and frequently involves both humor and menace. Although well-known in Europe, Wurm is perhaps best known in the states for inspiring this Red Hot Chili Peppers' video.

Earlier this year, Citygarden won one of the nation's most prestigious awards in urban planning, the Urban Land Institute's Open Space Award.

Citygarden will host a celebration the day after the installation, Saturday October 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

No, no more for Garden or Kiener Plaza until parking garage is built for the opera house. The comback for Downtown is west of Tucker, not east of Tucker.
