What am I thankful for this holiday season? That I don't work in retail. Specifically, that I don't work for any of the malls operated by CBL & Associates.

Yesterday the company announced that its five St. Louis malls -- Chesterfield, Mid-Rivers, South County Center, St. Clair Square and West County Center -- will all open at 12:01 a.m. the day after Thanksgiving. Yes, apparently CBL is taking the term "Black Friday" literally, believing that they must open their doors while it's still "pitch black" outside to fully take embrace the spirit of the season.

There's two kinds of Malls in America: Those that Whites shop at and those the blacks have caused to close down.
