Red-light camera vendor American Traffic Solutions just sent along the following video of collisions captured on its Missouri-based cameras this year.
Whether you love the cameras or loathe them (Daily RFT generally falls into the latter camp), the following clip provides ten reasons why blatant red-light running is a serious concern.
In the two accidents from Arnold, one was attributed to the glare from the sun on the windshield, which caused the driver to not see the light. The other one was due to inattention as the driver was distracted. I'm sure if you would get the police reports from the other accidents, you would find similar causes. I wonder if any of them ran the light intentionally? The leading causes of running a red lights are inattention, impairment or being distracted and a red light camera will do nothing to prevent that.
It's obvious that in almost all of these incidents the drivers just weren't paying attention. They weren't trying to run the red light, they were probably texting, i.e. the cameras did nothing for safety but did provide us with this awesome video.
Those videos prove that the cameras did absolutely nothing to prevent the accidents, but they did make Goldman Sachs owned American Traffic Solutions a boatload of cash.
Those red light runners need to be critically injured or killed for doing such things. But not the innocent people they hit. The more the merrier. Then perhaps people would follow the rules and drive safely..yea, in our dreams. And for those fucking idiots who text and drive, a one way ticket to the funeral home would be just what the doctor ordered.
You are just pissed off because I made you out to be a fool regarding the Cohen's and Central Hardware. My facts were 100% correct. Like I said, change your Depends and stop whining. I smell your bullshit from here!
Never fails--KITTY says something, someone else challenges him on maybe, uh, he many not be right, and next thing you know, KITTY either points the finger at his challenger or throws a cyber tantrum. Sorry big guy, but I'm not impressed. Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays!
