Angry Words Exchanged in Wal-Green's Checkout Line, Then the Stabbing Begins

Checkout line.jpg
An artist's conception of the line.
A 31-year-old woman was in line at an East St. Louis Walgreens with her two daughters on Tuesday morning when another woman bumped her. The bumper said "excuse me" and walked away, but bumped her again when the mother was at the counter.

This time the mother told bumper to go around her because "people were checking out," and the bumper started screaming at her. The cashier, showing more initiative than any Walgreen's checker I've ever encountered, told the bumper to leave the store.

Bumper then drew an undisclosed weapon and stabbed the mother repeatedly in the arm. Because that's what you do when you've bumped someone a couple times -- it's in the Marquis of McMahon rules (see: Every extreme wrestling match ever.)

Police arrested Stabby Bumpsalot, a 35-year old woman whose real name is being withheld until she's charged.

Are you serious? This woman stabbed someone who bumped her in line because of the governments response to disaster victims? If you don't like the way the people in your community have to live, or exist, stop making excuses for peoples bad behavior and expect them to be responsible and own their actions. Expect more from your community, your friends and yourself. You say this is directly related to how the government handled Katrina? Well I don't know where you've been, but ESL's problems were around decades before Katrina.

You poke fun at the violence in E St Louis because you don't live there and don't understand what it is like living. Outsiders look in and just assume ppl in ESL are just crazy enough to just go around shooting and stabbing each other for little or nothing. But the truth is, in ESL all the jobs left over night and all though you can't blame all EARL'S problems on race, race is a huge factor ESL doesn't get the kind of help it needs to truly recover. Everybody knows the Outsiders want it to continue to get worse on ESL side so they can come in and buy property cheap. You write like this stabbing is a part of a game. She was stabbed because of the fear of not knowing what's going to happen behind just a few words. I'd bet you everyone involved in this situation was scared even the person doing the stabbing. Nobody is keeping points. You joke about it because you don't live in anything even closely resembling this. What's going on in ESL is directly related to how the government handled hurricane Katrina. When white ppl get hit w/ a disaster, they instantly get food, water, reasonable housing,& Tide trucks so they can wash they clothes. When black ppl take a hit, the government sit back and watch to see how desperate we going to act. Then then the gov rushes in after enough film captures us doing our worse, then imply in the headlines, " This Is an All Day, Everyday Life of Niggas, I Sorry, Black Ppl. At this point it looks necessary to round us up in the projects or in Katrina's case the Super Dome like beasts in a heard. Anyone from ESL who leaves not just ESL but St. Claire county and discovers there is a better way of living that's just as natural as the deteriorating way they're living now, changes for the better. No body consciously signed up to exist the way ppl live in ESL.

Seems like a reasonable reaction....

Mrs. Simpson, the express line is the fastest line not always.  That old man up front, he is starved for attention.  He will talk the cashier's head off.

HELLO! The bumper is obviously a victim of raysizm. No crime here except by Y T who wasn't doing their job again to keep this sort of thing from happening.
