Anyone watching the Big 12 basketball tournament this week no doubt caught a glimpse of Kirkwood resident John Hagerty.

Hagerty recently came in fifth place in Phillips 66 "Local Legends" competition in which people submitted videos showing off their special talents in the hopes of winning free gas. Hagerty's video of him catching marshmallows in his mouth while hanging from a house, hanging from a tree and dunking basketballs earned him $500 worth of free petroleum. Even better is that his stunts landed him a television commercial -- something that the contestants who placed before him can't brag about.

And speaking of other contestants, three other Missourians rounded out the list of five grand prize winners.

Chris Dryden of Hannibal came in first place for his pool trick shots. Richard Dinkela of St. Peters won for his explorations along Route 66. View videos of Hagerty and all the finalists here.
