Gunmen Shoot Two, then Drive By the Police Interview of the Victims

Categories: Violent Crime
Two people were sitting in a parked car in the 4400 block of Red Bud Avenue in O'Fallon Park (above) around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday when another car drove by and fired shots into their vehicle. A 28-year-old woman was shot in the head, while the 51-year-old man in the car escaped injury. He drove  to the nearby fire station on Margaretta, and the woman was safely transported to the hospital where she's in stable condition.

Then the shooters took a page from Agatha Christie.

The uninjured man, meanwhile, was talking to police at the fire station. While he was answering questions, the suspected shooters happened to drive by -- as close to a return to the scene of the crime as you'll get in real life -- and the man pointed them out. Off went the police, and the suspects were apprehended.

Both men remain in custody. No charges have been filed.

Next time they want to quote Agatha Christy, they should do it by poisoning themselves.
