St. Louis Firefighters Are Bad; But "Disabled" MMA Fighter Takes Cake
But the tale of Los Angeles firefighter Rafael Davis is perhaps the most egregious case of pension abuse we've ever seen.
This week prosecutors in L.A. charged Davis with four counts of insurance fraud after he allegedly competed in mixed-martial arts matches while drawing disability payments from the city's fire department. During three years in which he was too "disabled" to work as a firefighter, Davis (who fought under the ring name "The Noodle") compiled a 6-1 record as an MMA fighter.
Perhaps Davis should bring his bad-ass self to the St. Louis fire department, where pension cheats routinely escape the choke-hold of prosecution and can tag their union boss to rescue them from public fire?
