The current issue of the Riverfront Times features a new print series by St. Louis artist, Tom Huck. In the video below, Huck -- the subject of an RFT profile back in '07 -- discusses the inspiration for his latest work, "The Hillbilly Kama Sutra."

Tom Huck seems to be artistically talented, however he is culturally ignorant. This new series appears to both accuse and blame "Hillbillys" (which are assumed to be all white) of deplorable acts which can be attributed to other groups. 

FYI the term "Hillbilly" is an ethnic slur referring to the rural people of Appalachia and those of the Ozarks. Although the term derives from a slur against Lowland Scots (Billy boys) it's American form (Hillbilly) refers to all peoples living in these rural areas.

I'm really surprised that RFT would give a platform to this kind of ignorance.
