Edward Jones Dome Makes Time's List of "Worst Stadiums in the World"

Still crappy after all these years.
Time magazine's Keeping Score blog compiled a list of the worst stadiums in the world, and in a development that's sure to please the Rams, the Edward Jones Dome came in at number seven.

Reasons for its inclusion include, um, let's see here...uh, apparently it topped a Sports Illustrated's fan poll to determine the most  terrible stadiums in 2008. Writer Nick Carbone notes that "it's not awful, but it's not great either." He then lists the ownership's demands for upgrades in seating, concession stands, new windows and a Dallas Cowboys-grade scoreboard as reasons for its general shittiness, and caps it off with a statement that damns the team's fans.
"For Missouri's football fans who dealt with the pain of losing the Cardinals to Arizona in 1987, they don't seem too keen on wanting the Rams to stick around."
Listen, Carbone: At this point, the fans haven't been consulted on the matter. The CVC and the team are keeping the city in the dark. It's only because Attorney General Chris Koster was willing to stick up for the public's right to know that we'll even be notified of how much a renovation will cost, and we won't even get that information until Monday. And even after that information is released, the fans won't be consulted about any move. It's pro sports -- they just want the fans' money, not their approval.

Redistribution of the public's wealth to privately owned sports franchises is communism regardless of what fancy title is put on it.

A team full of sloped head shines and you get the product and outcome of that combination. Make sports White again and you'll find they'll once again be interesting to watch. Ban jew ownership and that will happen. Until the juden are rounded up and put on a one way cargo ship to Tel Aviv you continue to watch AmeriKwa circle the bowl and be all wrapped up in shine worship.

I will never go to a game at the Ed until they get a retractable roof.  Terrible way to spend a beautiful October afternoon cooped up indoors.

FWIW, the list is "Worst Statiums in the U.S." not the world...

Before there was Koster there were Fred Lindecke and Ed Golterman, doing his job and his predecessors job. Now clarify how Checketts got the money to save the Blues and skip town a with a lot of money. Shine light on the Market St. side and on $130 million quietly 'assembled' for its restoration. Where did the money go? The distinct possibility the City loses both the Rams and Blues has been thwarted, on the south side of Downtown, west of Tucker.

Funny, my house is much older than the Dome, and even after adjusting for inflation, cost a fraction of a fraction as much to build, yet it's still just fine.

Um, there was no pain involved in losing the football cardinals. They, too, were a lousy team who couldn't fill the stadium they had, yet their owner demanded a bigger better stadium. Let's tell the current group of greedy losers the same thing we told the last one - don't let the door hit ya too hard on your way out.

Some stats:

It's been 9 seasons since the Rams have had a winning season (8-8 is not a winning season) and they're a massive 15-65 (.188) in the last 5 seasons - and almost half of those wins came in '10 when they went 7-9.

They're 56-104 (.350) over the last 10 seasons.

They only have 4 winning seasons in the 17 years they've been in St. Louis. Why would it be a happy place when there's so much losing going on there? Why should anyone invest money to improve the stadium when the team does nothing to improve themselves?

Yeah Wuhdog, that's a great way to be a fan. You do any Rams road trips to stadiums that are open to support your team ? Just as I thought.. another guy with a computer giving his opinion.

Oh Contraire. St. Louis Football fans supportedthe Big Red just as well as the Rams. I don't know how old you are, but take itfrom someone that lived for Big Red Football. It was a black day when they left.Bunch of politicians likeVince Schoemehl- that didn’t know jack, let them leave.

Season ticket/PSL owner here and I cannot disagree with anything Douche wrote. Just a goddamn shame how poorly the team has treated their loyal fans.

Agree. I moved out here in June of '99 and got to see them win the Super Bowl which was an awesome welcome to St. Louis for me :) Even that year came after 9 losing seasons in a row (going back a few while they were in LA).

Everyone had Rams fever since they were winning - it was hard to get tickets to the games. Then they got rid of Warner after '01, had 2 avg years and 1 good one with Bulger, but from '04 on they slid downwards and still haven't recovered - they've either been in the lower half of the league or near the bottom in both offense and defense for a few years running.

They're more concerned about making money than winning football games and that's a shame
