A submission from last year. This guy really likes Compton Heights' water tower.
Got civic pride? You have one more week to prove it.

This coming Wednesday (May 23) is the last day to submit your picture to GroupHug St. Louis, a photo competition in appreciation of the people and places of the 314, 636 and 618 area codes.

"It's all about reminding ourselves of the everyday things that we take for granted -- the things that make St. Louis as a region special," says Jeff Vines, one of the organizers of the second annual GroupHug.

Last year the civic booster group, City Affair Saint Louis, received more than 244 submissions of people hugging animate and inanimate objects (from buildings and statutes to friends and dogs). And its GroupHug project made an impression far beyond our borders.

This month Cleveland, Detroit, Pittsburgh and Milwaukee are all participating in a similar photo competition inspired by GroupHug St. Louis.

So how to participate? Snap a photo of yourself "hugging" something you love in (or about) St. Louis and email it to grouphugstl@gmail.com by 5 p.m. May 23.

City Affair will then showcase all submissions at its GroupHugs party on Saturday, May 26, at the Old North St. Louis Restoration Group Gallery (2700 N. 14th Street) from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., where a jury will vote on the best photos and hand out a $100 to the winner. More info on GroupHug's Tumbler and Facebook pages.

Most of you would have mentioned the Holycost museum if you would have thought of it.

It's spelled Holocaust, and I went a few months ago to find out more about what my European extended family went through, jackass. But you already know all about people making hateful generalizations and categorizing entire races though, huh?

That's weird. You're a religion not a race. God didn't choose you. Palestine belongs to Palestinians not Eastern European jews. The holyhoax numbers are massively inflated. There were no gas chambers. The remnants of what were supposed to be gas chambers were hurriedly constructed by the Russians as propaganda against the Germans. Most of the dead died at the end of the war of typhus and starvation as the result of Allied bombings of the German supply trains. The camps had pools, theaters, clubs, and even a brothel and had their own money system that the inmates used to barter for other goods and services. The Protocols are true. Jews do practice blood libel. Jews do hate Christians and have vowed to annihilate Whites, Christians, Muslims and anyone else that stands in the way of their global domination schemes.

These landmarks are all tripe. We should sell every one and donate all proceeds to the Kiel Opera house, muny and Larry Rice. Once we take these steps St. Louis will be the brightest star city in the universe and tourism will increase billions of percent. Unfortunately the Blues and the Slay Schoemel criminal cabal will do everything in their power to destroy all hope and allow Kansas City to retain their brightest city star status and destory the city. I have also just pissed my pants and there is nothing you can do about it. How how how how how! Horraw!

Not sure if parody or self-parody

The Blues should hug the Kiel bears for saving their asses.

And again, Eddie Golterman crashes another thread to make it all about himself. Don't kid yourself Eddie, anyone with half a brain knows it's time to give it up. You got what you wanted, and it STILL isn't good enough for you!

The Blacks should weigh in that what they like best about the area is how they can rob, rape, beat and murder Whites at will without any repercussions.

If that's the best comeback you've got, sounds like your Burroughs education didn't do you any good Earl.  I'd expect something better than that.
