Your Weekly St. Louis Bestseller List

Here's your weekly St. Louis bestseller list for the week ending July 1, as compiled by the St. Louis Independent Booksellers Alliance and based on sales at Left Bank Books, Main Street Books, Pudd'nhead Books, Subterranean Books and Sue's News.

We're just going to spoil this week's number-one kids' bestseller, Count to Sleep St. Louis (the latest entry in a series that includes Count to Sleep New York, Count to Sleep Chicago, Count to Sleep Washington DC, etc.): St. Louis has one Arch! And only two animals at the Zoo! Because presumably the rest died! (Or, more likely, the author and illustrator didn't bother to visit St. Louis or speak to anyone who lives here.)

We apologize. The heat is making us cranky. And we're getting sick of typing 50 Shades of Crap every week. Maybe we should read this week's top non-50 Shades bestseller, A Hologram for the King by Dave Eggers, which is set in Saudi Arabia. Maybe it could put St. Louis summer weather into perspective. Or maybe we should look at Count to Sleep St. Louis again -- maybe it ends with "a million billion degrees."

In other news, the very best title on the list this week is Dragons Love Tacos.
