Bryant L. Carruth, 38, was killed in his Dellwood home early Monday morning in what police suspect was a home invasion. St. Louis County Police say three to four men broke into Carruth's home in the 10700 block of Trask Drive at 1:30 a.m. this morning. Carruth struggled with the intruders and was shot during the confrontation. The men then fled with items from the house. Carruth's wife was not injured in the attack. Police have no description of the suspects, other than that they were young black men.

It's likely the invaders went after Carruth for drugs and money, or to get revenge on a low-life gun-totin'  thug. Carruth has a long criminal record. Over the years he was charged with and pleaded guilty to the following felonies: Voluntary Manslaughter, Armed Criminal Action, 1st Degree Assault, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and trafficking in drugs.  He has been in and out of prison since 1990. Shed no tears for this dead thug.
