Here's your weekly St. Louis bestseller list for the week ending August 19, as compiled by the St. Louis Independent Booksellers Alliance and based on sales at Left Bank Books, Main Street Books, Pudd'nhead Books and Subterranean Books.

Dear readers of St. Louis,

Holy crap! You've finally done it! You've made Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl the number-one local bestseller. (And it is local, sort of: Much of the action takes place in North Carthage, Missouri, a fictional town on the Mississippi, near Hannibal, but there are detours to the St. Louis are.) Most of you have probably finished reading it already because, as you know, once you pick it up, it's impossible to put down. Unlike another bestseller that has dominated the bestseller list for most of this long, crappy summer. Our Inner Goddess thanks you.

XOXO,
Daily RFT
