People of Walmart: The Missouri Gallery

Perhaps our favorite part about People of Walmart, a site where readers submit photos of Walmart fashion, is that you can isolate just one state -- like ours!

Click through to see who's been shopping at Missouri Walmart stores in the last year.

Not a rat-tail; it's a rat-braid; this is next-level stuff.

Sexy almost-mamas. At Walmart.

Colin, you need to travel more. Outside of America is not all fashion magazines.

Myself and Allan Zwick had this idea as 10-12 year old kids. People of Walmart owes us!We actually encountered a dead ringer for Rodney Dangerfield at a Walmart food court. What beats that?

I prefer to laugh and make fun of the people in The Grove area. Let's have the RFT post their photos to get a good laugh, too.

Okay, now let's go make fun of the people down in the Grove area. Liberalism was once accepting of diversity. Not all are fashion icons. Not all want to be. These people are just doing what they like, yet the great liberal editors mock them. How truly said our nation has become.

@base212assm We're not really a reliably liberal paper anymore, but you have a point in the general sense -- the left used to always champion the underclass. Of course, that was back when no self-respecting person, no matter how poor, left the house without trying to look as nice as possible (by wearing a hat, for example; cf pics of the Great Depression). Not exactly the attitude you see at Walmart these days.

@NP_DailyRFT  @base212assm A couple of years ago, I saw an interview with Jerry Springer, and at the end of it, he said that when his show went off the air, he was thinking of going back into politics, maybe running for mayor again or for the state legislature. The interviewer asked him, "What makes you think that the guy who is famous for The Jerry Springer Show can get anybody to vote for him?" Springer answered, "Because I'm the only Democrat in Ohio, any more, that doesn't look down on the people on my show."

@NP_DailyRFT , not reliably a liberal newspaper? I'm guessing the RTF is ready to endorse Romney, the moderate in the field this year (he defeated all the real conservatives in the GOP primaries). You do not have to go back to the New Deal to find liberalism. What would the liberals and flower children of the sixties say? Plenty of free lovers in the seventies. New agers? Ask anyone in The Grove, "Is it right to mock someone for what they wear or how they cut their hair?" And to a person, you will not find one person saying it is proper to do so.No, your editors have made a choice to mock others unlike themselves. The RFT is turning towards what we used to call Yuppies, now metrosexuals. It is politics. You mock what you do not understand. Then you mock others for mocking what they do not understand. you and the mirror need to talk this one through before slamming what others do that cause no harm to you.

@Homo , I do not know. I used in the context of older terms, yuppies and such.

@Purps , I simply do not share your brand of humor that insults someone else for being different. I can laugh at myself. And I am laughing at you - not for being different, but for being the internet tough guy.Liberals would never mock the homelss for being unshowered nor for wearing unflattering clothing. you, are not a true liberal. you are a mean-spirited, cold-hearted fool.Gays can be mean and nasty, just like you. You cannot rebut what I wrote, so you invented words to your liking. I said to ask them if it is right to mock someone for what they wear or how they style their hair. They will never say it is right to do so, even if they do exactly that amongst their friends. I also suspect few would publicly call out any of these people. you would. you are a nasty individual.

@base212assm  You are a humorless fuckface. This does not mock the people, but what those people are wearing (or not wearing). And in no fucking book I know of does it say that "liberalism" -- a concept you do not understand -- must accept the undershowered and the unflattering. And you're the one, mind you, who assumed certain things about the RFT anyway -- that it's liberal (where's your fucking proof, asshole?), that the Grove is necessarily diametrically opposed to the Walmart folks (there is overlap), that doing "what you like" means that you can look like rumpled piece of garbage in public, that mocking what somebody is wearing is the same as dehumanizing them (it is not). Who's the liberal pussy now? And lastly, you ill-informed dipshit, if you think no one in the Grove would mock someone for what they are wearing, then you've never met a gay man or woman in your sad humorless life.

@NP_DailyRFT , and I do not understand them either, but I do not mock them. I do not understand facial tattoos or horn implants, but if someone wants them, no harm to me. Get your laughs. Then become properly offended when someone mocks you or someone you know. Why should it take us to know someone personally before the mocking is offensive? I do not know a single person with a mullet, rat tail, or rat-braid. Not even one with a Mohawk. If I come across someone sporting one of those hairstyles today, you can be damn certain I will still treat them as another fellow human being without mocking them. I'm offended that you do not see any problem with mocking others, but what's in the paper next week? A call for anti-bullying laws?
