UPDATE: Woman, Three Children Found Dead Outside Home Near DeSoto

[UPDATE 9:42 a.m.: Jefferson County Sheriff's Department held a press conference earlier this morning. They've clarified that the woman was found at the house of her estranged boyfriend. She has an order of protection against him, but at this point investigators haven't thoroughly examined arrest records/911 call tapes to determine if there was or was not domestic violence. The boyfriend told police he came home, saw her car in front of his house and left so as not to violate the order, then called police for help from a nearby location. Police discovered the bodies, not the boyfriend. He's the father of the youngest child, while the woman's ex-husband is the father of the two older girls. Police are questioning the boyfriend as a witness, not a suspect, at this point.]
According to information released to the media by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, the children were all found inside a car parked in front of a residence. Their mother was found at the steps leading up to the front porch of the home. All of them had been shot once in the head.
Detectives have not ruled out murder-suicide, but for now they're investigating the crime as a homicide. This is a developing story; check back for updates as they're made available.
