Man Arrested for Robbing, Kidnapping Wash. U. Student at Knifepoint

William Cobbins, charged with robbery and kidnapping
A 22-year-old from Downtown West was arrested Wednesday on charges that he robbed and kidnapped a Washington University student last August.

According to St. Louis County Police, William J. Cobbins was the man who approached the 23-year-old female victim as she was getting into to her car in a campus parking garage on August 28 at 9:40 p.m.



The victim later said he pointed a knife at her and told her to drive to several ATMs to withdraw cash.

A $75,000 cash-only bond has been issued.

The official charges are first-degree robbery and one count of kidnapping.
