BREAKING! A gigantic spider has ascended the Gateway Arch and is holding the downtown riverfront district hostage.

At least 105 feet in length, the beast appeared out of no where and began constructing a web with thread roughly the thickness of bridge support cables. Arachnophobes have fled the city, while officials say they are waiting to see if this is a "Charlotte's web kind of deal" before ordering an air-strike. Should the spider spell out "GO CARDS," for example, he will be allowed to remain on the beloved landmark.

Just kidding -- a spider built a web on the lens of one of Fox 2's weather cams. Watch it here, and here's another uncanny screenshot. Happy early Halloween, St. Louis!
