Your Weekly St. Louis Bestseller List

Categories: Bidness, Books

Here's your weekly St. Louis bestseller list for the week ending October 14, as compiled by the St. Louis Independent Booksellers Alliance and based on sales at Left Bank Books, Main Street Books, Pudd'nhead Books and Subterranean Books.

Sometimes the bestseller list contains random, unexplainable occurrences, such as way Daniel Woodrell's year-old short story collection, The Outlaw Album, is the number-one selling adult title in independent bookstores in St. Louis.

Then again, it's totally explainable why the latest entry in Rick Riordan's Heroes of Olympus series, Mark of Athena, is the number-one title on the kids' list. And why Liespotting: Proven Techniques to Detect Deception by Pamela Meyer is also making an appearance on the adult list. Mythology is awesome and Riordan is awesome and, like Woodrell, he lives around here! And two, it's election season.

Also new to the list this week: St. Louis Architecture for Kids (learning!) and recent Truman State grad Alexandra Rowland's debut novel, In the End.
