[VIDEO] "Arrested Development" Mega-Fan Creates Web Series to Score a Part on Season 4 (And It Might Be Working)
Well, that's not completely true. The "Arrested Development" mega-fan has already had some success on the big screen, notably sharing a scene with George Clooney in "Up in the Air."
But Goetz, a St. Louis-native (Lindbergh, class of '04), wants something more. Namely, a role in the fourth and final season of the terribly funny TV series "Arrested Development."
He wants it so bad, he went a little Tobias Funke on the casting director.
Goetz moved to L.A. to pursue his lifelong dream of acting in 2009. Things haven't gone perfect (though he's no slouch, check out his IMDB profile and demo reel here) and at present he's not able to support himself on acting gigs alone. Word of the new "Arrested Development" season changed everything.
"When I found out the show was coming back, it became very important to me that I try something extra," he says.
He knew he needed an audition with Hollywood's hottest quirk-casting director Allison Jones (The Office, Freaks and Geeks, alsoeverythingpopularyou'veeverheardof). This, as it turns out, is tricky.
Instead of going the normal route, Goetz hatched an unusual plan and sunk what little money he had into a fan-fiction "Arrested Development" series about his quest for a part called "Paul Goetz's Last Ditch Effort."

Here's the really cuckoo thing -- his plan is WORKING:
