If Board of Aldermen President Lewis Reed becomes the city's next mayor, he'll do it without the guidance of Matt Teter.

The Beacon broke the news this morning that the Reed campaign has parted ways with Teter -- apparently over irreconcilable views on how to run the campaign.

Teter reportedly said that his client, Lewis Reed, was "unwilling to listen to sound advice," while Reed suggested he didn't like Teter's preference for a "big media campaign."

Teter's appearances in the press this year have not always had a favorable hue.

Last February, Teter was accused by his then-boyfriend of domestic assault at his Soulard residence. The boyfriend ended up in the emergency room; Teter later surrendered into police custody. No charges were ever filed against Teter, but the incident led to him leaving his post as executive director of Missouri's Democratic Party.

As Reed's campaign manager, Teter felt it necessary to address his past after the city's health director Pam Walker brought it up publicly. Teter tweeted:

"@pamwalker just for your information, no charges ever issued. I think it's STL citizens who need a #restrainingorder on you."

The Reed campaign has not announced who will replace Teter.

Daily RFT asked Teter by text what was in store for him going forward.

His response: "Taking every step necessary to ensure 2013 is better than 2012."

Reid's campaign is "tetering" on the brink of disaster. No way he will be elected!
