North St. Louis Nightclub Shooting: Two Men Injured Outside Premier Lounge

A north St. Louis nightclub became a crime scene over the weekend when two men were shot and badly injured, police say.

The site was the parking lot of Premier Lounge on Martin Luther King Drive near Hodiamont Avenue.

And according to police, the two victims "heard gunshots and then felt pain."

How serious were their injuries?

Police say the two victims, both 30-year-old black males, were sent to the hospital after the shooting, which happened around 1 a.m. Sunday morning.

One sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was listed in critical/stable condition after the shooting. The second victim suffered a wound in his left leg and was in serious/stable condition as of Sunday.

Officers also recovered a handgun at the scene -- and the investigation is ongoing. At this point, suspects are unknown.

Incident: Assault 1st (shooting)
Location: 5900 block of Dr. MLK Date/Time: 2/24/13 @ 0105
Victim #1: 30-year old black male
Victim #2: 30-year old black male
Suspect(s): Unknown
Synopsis: Officers responded to a "shooting" in a parking lot at the above location. The victims heard gunshots and then felt pain. Victim #1 sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and conveyed to a local hospital in critical/stable condition. Victim #2 sustained a gunshot wound to the left leg and was conveyed to a local hospital in serious/stable condition. Officers recovered a handgun at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

It was not the only gun violence in the city this weekend.

Earlier Saturday night, suspects fired shots at three individuals driving in the Walnut Park neighborhood, police say, noting that the suspects then followed the victims and continued to shoot at them. A 22-year old black female was struck in the leg and transported to a local hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
