Yeah, it's their right. Doesn't mean we aren't completely justified to feel sickened and repelled by their ideology... All you can do is use your own freedom of speech to spread words of love and compassion instead of hate and bigotry. Oh and to the gentleman that said the KKK and the NAACP were equivalent? Not in a million years man, sorry that you feel that way... The NAACP is not a hate group and it's disturbing that you would think so. I don't know you so I won't assume that you are a racist, but you are certainly giving the impression that it could be true. One of those organizations was formed for the specific purpose of using terror, violence, and murder to suppress the freedoms of not just black people, but also Jews, Catholics, and immigrants. Please don't compare an organization like that which murdered thousands of black men and women to the one founded by Mr. W.E.B DuBois and Booker T. Washington with the purpose of uplifting a group of people and restoring the dignity stolen from them. Hope you learn the error of your ways and let go of some of that suspicion and fear. Peace!

unpopular speech should not be censored. you want to combat their hate? Then spread your positive message. no one is stopping you.

1st Amendment. You also have the right (I would say obligation) to counter their speech with your own.

Free speech is protected, even unpopular speech, even burning the flag.

I don't think they should be able to because they are spreading hate messages, but freedom of speech gives them that right. The same reason Westboro hasn't been shut down. Like others have said...we have the right to not listen or accept any message/flyer we don't want. Hate is sad no matter where it comes from.

Why is there even a debate? Are some people still unaware of the their freedom to speech and press? Every city councilperson should have to pay the court costs and legal fees out of their own pocket - these elected representatives swore to uphold the Constitution. Pay up or resign - you are unfit for your office. We do not have to support the KKK to know that we do not want cities, counties, states, or even the Federal gov't to tell us what we can say or print.
