St. Louis Robbers Allegedly Ask Man for Lighter, Push Him to Ground, Kick Him, Steal Money

Categories: Crime

A trip to the gas station early Sunday morning turned into a frightening experience for a 24-year-old male who St. Louis metro police say was violently attacked by four men.

The assault and robbery took place at the 9000 block of Halls Ferry Road just after midnight on Saturday.

The victim told police that he was walking to a gas station when a man approached him and asked him for a lighter.

That suspect, police say, soon pulled out a knife and pushed the victim to the ground -- when three other men began to kick him.

Fortunately, it appears the victim got away with only a "superficial wound to his ear," police say.

Police say that in addition to the beating, one suspect tried to cut the man with a knife.

They took his money and fled and at this time, remain unknown, police say.
