Drunk Man Wanders into Neighbor's Home, Takes Shower, Says He Lives There, Police Say

Michael Adams, 24.
We've been there before: You're drunk and clumsy and you're having trouble opening your door. You finally push your way in, take off all your clothes and hop in the shower in a useless attempt to sober up.

This seems to be how Chesterfield man Michael Adams' drunk night ended last week. Only problem was he wasn't in his home.

That's right! Adams, 24, wandered into the wrong house and proceeded to take a shower, according to Chesterfield police officials.

His response when they told him that he was not actually in his home: Ya sure?

"It was clearly a case of an intoxicated subject going into the wrong residence," a police spokesman says in an e-mai to Daily RFT.

Last Wednesday, he apparently entered a neighbor's home on the 200 block of River Bend Drive in Chesterfield around 4 a.m., police say.

The homeowner was reportedly startled by the noise and called police "before recognizing the intruder as another resident in the neighborhood."

Police say: "The subject believed he was in his residence, however this was not the case."

He was charged with trespassing and destruction of property. The latter charge, the spokesman says, is due to the fact that "he did force his way into the residence."

We reached out to Adams to see if he wanted to comment. We'll update if we hear back.

a real american law abiding citizen with a handgun would have protected himself by emptying his 15 round magazine into the guy.

He discovered that house. The savages there weren't doing anything with it. He brought civilization to that house. They should be grateful.

My guess is that the rooms are all white with stock fixtures and vanities just like in the display home. Boring in, boring out. Throw in a few Natty's and bingo. He probably thought the wife had "re-decorated".
