Teacher Joseph Maddock Accused of Putting Hand Down 10-Year-Old Student's Pants

Categories: Crime

Joseph Maddock.
Joseph Maddock, a 33-year-old teacher in Lake St. Louis, is accused of putting his hand down his ten-year-old student's pants and touching him inappropriately.

The alleged incident happened at the student's home.

Maddock had met the student a year ago while teaching third grade at Andrews Academy in Lake St. Louis and the teacher convinced the boy's parents to have him home-school the student full-time the following academic year, police say.

He taught the boy five days a week from September of last year to February of this year -- often in the basement living room of the boy's residence, officials say.

Lake St. Louis Police Chief Michael Force tells Daily RFT that during a January reading session, Maddock "admittedly committed the crime by placing his...hand down the front of the ten-year-old's pants and under his underwear...while at the victim's residence."

Andrews Academy, school where the suspect allegedly met the victim.

A probable cause statement, on view below, also has this troubling detail:

During several reading sessions, Maddock would have his arm around the victim and he would rub the victim's back and stomach under his shirt on his bare skin while laying down on the couch with Maddock reading a story.

Police say that Maddock has been teaching since 2001 and offer this list of former employers:

Lindberg Early Children Dev, 2001-2002,
YMCA Parkway after school care, 2002-2003,
Rock Springs Elementary in Florida, 2003-2005,
Rockwood School Dist, 2006-2008,
Hunington Learning Center, 2007-2009,
Webster Groves School Dist, 2006-2008,
The Wilson School 2007-2008, St.
Michaels School 2008-2010,
Epworth School, 2011,
Andrews Academy 2012,
Dynamic Pathways in O'Fallon, current teacher

An attorney for Andrews Academy tells Daily RFT that the school does not comment on personell matters, but confirms that Maddock no longer works for the school and has not for the past school year.

Daily RFT also left a message today for Dynamic Pathways, where police say he is a "current teacher." We'll update if we hear back. Maddock could not be reached for comment.

Here's the full probable cause statement.

This is what you get when homosexuality is mainstream. Gays have sex with children. Jerry Sandusky. This fruit. When LGBT gets done, child sex will be the norm and it will be seen as homophobic if people can't give blow jobs in the bathroom or even in an auditorium of third graders.

Accused teacher was at 11 schools in 11 years

Statement by David Clohessy of St. Louis, Director of SNAP, Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (314-566-9790, snapclohssey@aol.com)

Eleven schools in eleven years. That's the troubling track record of teacher Joseph Thomas Maddock who has been charged with sexually assaulting a ten year old student. This doesn't pass the smell test. We strongly suspect that staff and parents at several of these schools knew of or suspected Maddock's crimes and did little or nothing to stop him. The notion that a child molesting teacher moves so much so quickly but no one sees or suspects anything suspicious defies logic and common sense.

Some of these schools are elite private institutions, where teachers and administrators likely worried about their enrollments and reputations if a child sex scandal erupted. But that's of course no excuse.  Other schools are in large districts that have likely had ample experience in dealing with known or suspected child molesters. They too have no excuse for not notifying police or parents about possible child sex crimes.

We implore current and former staff and students at each of these schools to examine their consciences and find some strength. A charge is not a conviction, and law enforcement authorities can always use more evidence and witnesses, especially in child sex cases. We urge them to share what they know or remember or believe - no matter how old, small or seemingly insignificant - with police and prosecutors, so that this criminal might be kept away from children for a long time.

Is this seriously what the RFT is now? Asking the mob for their revenge fantasies? What an embarrassment.

An eye for an eye the child should be able to do whatever he wants to the pervert and then the mom and dad should get a chance to do as they see fit then if there's anything left put his sorry Ass in jail and have him castrated on public access television for all to see how scum like him should be dealt with

Just make him wear a "Child Molester" jumpsuit in the prison yard. Karma will sort all that out.
