John Paulsen, 48, Shot Dead in Parked Convertible in South St. Louis (Homicide 57)
John Paulsen, a 48-year-old south St. Louis resident, was shot and killed at around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday inside his parked car, police say.

The suspect -- described as a 6'-6'2" tall black male with a slender build and shoulder length dreadlocks -- allegedly shot Paulsen in the arm and chest.
The victim was transported to a local hospital after police arrived and was soon after pronounced dead. Cops say the unknown suspect fled the scene on foot.
It's unclear if the suspect may have had any connection to the victim.
Police say that Paulsen was on the 4200 block of Neosho Street in the Bevo neighborhood and that he had parked the vehicle when the male approached him and fired.
Paulsen was a white male who lived on the 900 block of Dover Place in the Carondelet neighborhood nearby.
He is the 57th homicide victim in the city of St. Louis this year.
Cops are urging anyone with tips to call CrimeStoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS.
The Post-Dispatch reports that the victim may have been closing the convertible top of his car when he was shot.

Victim: John Paulsen, a 48-year old white male of the 900 block of Dover
Suspect: Black male, 6' - 6'2" tall, slender build with shoulder length dreadlocks
Upon officer's arrival to the scene, they located the victim sitting in the driver seat of his vehicle. The victim was unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound to his arm and chest. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Investigation revealed, the victim parked his vehicle and unknown black male approached and fired a gunshot towards the victim's vehicle. The suspect fled the scene on foot.
