My wife and I spent the day in Forest Park today. Best city park in the COUNTRY!
Our city's crown jewel.....love every inch of it!
Such a beautiful place!
Our little play ground year around..:)
Makes me happy I moved away in the mid-90's. STL remains a shithole in a shit state with shit weather.
I proposed to my fiancée at the Grand Basin this year. Fun to see.
Working in the park from May - Sept for over 25yrs, I have watched it. I was upset when they cleared all of the old growth trees for the Golf Course along Lindell. There were some amazing trees lost.
I love the Now photo
The renovations and renewal in Forest Park have made it a wonderful place to visit and it is once again a real gem that all St Louisans can take pride in. I do have one comment that might seem negative but I think needs to be said. It is a fairly recent trend that major benefactors require their name, whether it be a corporation or a wealthy family, be put before the name of the entity being restored. I am very grateful to the businesses and individuals who contribute huge sums of money to help restore our landmarks to glory for all of us to enjoy. But wouldn't a plaque be just as nice? Do we really need to have a grocery store logo in the middle of our zoo? I don't mean to offend the donors, who are a very generous family in the region. But isn't the fact that you CAN do it enough of a reward?
