Update below: Walter Martinez, a St. Louis county hospice nurse's aide, is facing multiple charges of sexual assault and rape -- and police say his victims were individuals in his care.

Martinez, according to county police officials, worked for a company called Odyssey Hospice and provided care for several victims.

Some of his responsibilities including bathing the elderly patients -- and that's when the abuse may have occurred.

Police announced this morning that Martinez, a 44-year-old Ballwin resident, is facing charges of two counts of deviate sexual assault, one count of forcible rape and an additional count of forcible sodomy.

His cash only bond has been set at $100,000.

The deviate sexual assault charges came from the Ellisville and Chesterfield police departments and the forcible rape and sodomy charges were investigated and brought to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office by the county police department.

Martinez worked as a nurse's aide between May 22 and June 1 of 2012, police say.

County police are asking that people who may have come into contact with Martinez and need to report an offense to call 314-889-2341 or their local police agency.

Daily RFT left a message today with Odyssey Hospice and will update if we hear back.

Update, 4:50 p.m.: Daily RFT heard back from a spokesman for Gentiva Health Services, the parent company of Odyssey Hospice. He passes along this statement, noting that Martinez is no longer an employee:

Gentiva is committed to protecting both the security and privacy of patients and their families. That commitment limits the comments we can make about allegations involving a health care worker that came to our attention earlier this year. We can tell you that upon learning about these allegations, we immediately notified the appropriate state agency and local law enforcement authorities who have investigated. We also notified the patients' family members. The individual in question is no longer an employee of Gentiva.

He's kind of a dorky looking guy. How was he able to score so much with the ladies?
