Five violent incidents since Friday left six dead in metro St. Louis, bringing the total homicide count to 88 this year. At this time last year the count was 97.

The killings started at 12:05 a.m. on Friday when officers were called to an address on the 7500 block of Vermont Avenue. There they found Richard Kraemer 46, unconscious and suffering from multiple lacerations to his chest and abdomen. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kraemer apparently had been engaged in a serious feud with his girlfriend's 21-year-old son, who allegedly stabbed Kraemer with a knife and fled. The younger man was eventually caught and taken into custody.

Then, at 1:12 p.m., officers were called to a vacant lot near the 3800 block of Labadie Avenue, where Christopher Henderson-Jones, 23, lay dead on the street with bullet wounds to the chest, pelvis and hip.

Police identified no suspects. All they know so far is that Henderson-Jones was standing in the middle of the street when he was shot. He made it as far as the vacant lot before succumbing to his injuries.

On Saturday evening, Timothy Blair, 45, and Kemesa Newble, 32, separately attended an event at Starz Bar, near the 1800 block of McLaran Avenue, but a fight forced everyone to leave. They were both outside at about at 12:59 a.m. when two unidentified black males started blasting away at each other. Blair was struck in the abdomen while standing with a group of men only a few blocks away from the bar. Nemble was sitting in her car when one of the suspects' bullets hit her in the armpit.

Both Blair and Nemble were taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Two more Sunday homicides bookended the weekend's violence.

At 6:35 a.m, Savannah Allen, 26, was found on the 4200 block of California lying on her back, having sustained "at least" one gunshot to her left cheek, according to a police press release.

Then at 10:08 p.m. on Sunday night, 29-year-old Monette Cole [corrected] was discovered slumped on the steps of a vacant residence on 5200 block of Blair Street. She had been shot multiple times in the body and head.
