Christmas is the time for killing!! I hope we don't turn into Texas.

As per the quote by Nicklasson, he does not express empathy for killing the man who tried to help him. He stated that he shot him because he had no rope. Maybe empathy was expressed in another statement not published although that quote is not in his favor. A death for a death sounds reasonable to me.

Costs more to put them to death???? Daniel Stout, have you no rope or strong hands??? These people do not deserve to be allowed to Rome freely to raise havoc nor should they be our burden to carry! If indeed they were unjustly convicted, St peter will find them a nice seat somewheres

And just what is the hold up??? There's 10000 in line behind him for fucks sake!!!!! ON WITH THE SHOW PLEASE! maybe we can clear up the docket all together and just gas death row

To be honest, that website is clearly against the death penalty, but that does not mean it can't break some much abused myths.

"Financial costs to taxpayers of capital punishment is several times that of keeping someone in prison for life. Most people don't realize that carrying out one death sentence costs 2-5 times more than keeping that same criminal in prison for the rest of his life. How can this be? It has to do with the endless appeals, additional required procedures, and legal wrangling that drag the process out. It's not unusual for a prisoner to be on death row for 15-20 years. Judges, attorneys, court reporters, clerks, and court facilities all require a substantial investment by the taxpayers. Do we really have the resources to waste?"

Becky, there are two ways to respond to that statement. One, should a life be determined worthy simply by how much it costs the state? I hope not. Plus, it is cheaper to keep someone in prison for life than to put them to death. While many will try to deny this truth, it is true because of the legal process that I hope each and every one of us would respect.

Dennis, no one can ever answer that question until they are put in that situation, but I have two ways that I will attempt to share my opinion. I am willing to guarantee that I would not want them put to death. Plus, me wanting them put to death or not should have no bearing on whether they SHOULD be put to death or not.

So, instead of killing these people who chose to take the lives of innocent people, we should pay for them to live in prison? Do you know how much it costs to take care of a prisoner for a year? We could be spending that money on mental health programs to help these people before they become criminals and harm others. Have you ever visited someone in prison? They have it pretty good, they must because so many people just keep going back. Many of them have it better there than they do in the "real world".

My only question to you Daniel is "would you still feel the same if he had taken the life of someone in your family?"

Oh, I get it. My people have informed me that is a reference to my lack of manhood. I would argue that growing a vagina is a more appropriate response, as testicles only need a simple smack to render a "so-called" man useless. A vagina, on the other hand, can take a beating have an 8 pound baby pass through it and come back for more.

No, it doesn't cost more to execute them. It costs more to keep them incarcerated.

They both deserve the death penally!

It costs more to execute someone than it does for them to live a life in prison. Plus, is money really an reason to kill some one?

Daniel Stout grow a pair. He killed a man in cold blood. He was shown more mercy than the man he killed. Did you even read the story?

For every one they euthanize 100 more will take his place. We want to save money then we need to go back to the basics and start with our children and teaching them right from wrong....and when they do wrong, we as parents, beat their freakin @ss for it and teach them respect. We've become a society that coddles our children with no consequences for bad behavior because the law decides how we punish our children...not us as parents anymore.

They are being punished via the same method they committed the crime. Eye for an eye.

A society that kills to show that killing is wrong is doomed.
