New Yorkers Throwing Pizza on Joe Buck is the Funniest Thing You'll See Today

Funny or Die
Joe Buck cannot believe that just happened.
New Yorkers really, really do not like Joe Buck.

In a spoof Super Bowl commercial released Thursday, Buck gets abuse (and a pizza!) hurled at him from New Yorkers who make it clear they hate his guts.

Buck is in New York getting ready for Super Bowl XLVIII, where he and Troy Aikman will commentate to more than 100 million television viewers from MetLife Stadium.

For St. Louisans, there's a pot of gold at the end of this video rainbow: A St. Louis native pops in to say he's a big fan...of Jack Buck, Joe's father.

"No, you're a piece of shit," the St. Louisan tells Buck just as the sportscaster thinks he's found a fan.

Something about watching a self-aware Buck take the insults is hilarious, even for Yankees fans and other career Buck-haters. The video went viral within hours, earning more than 63,000 hits in less than a day.

If you're wondering, this is what it looks like when Buck is NOT in on the joke about how much he's hated in the northeast:

Buck partnered with Funny or Die, the video site run by Will Ferrell's company, to post the "failed" commercial.

Cheering an assault on a law abiding person is not cool, and it is definitely not funny.

He's really nice to. I worked for car service he uses and was always pleasant when he called.

In all reality, Joe Buck does a phenomenal job commentating sports. And my opinion has nothing to do in coming from these streets of St. Louis. Open your ears ignorance!

Hands (and Pizza) off our Joe Buck! He's, with Bob Costas, the best announcer on the airwaves! Go get 'em, Joe!

only the RFT would find assault funny. Yell, scream, photobomb, whatever, but never assault someone just because you do not like what they say.

I've met the Bucks and they are nice people, including Joe. I realize it is a spoof, but why so many haters?

That was great. I loved your Dad as a broadcaster, you're just an ass.

I'm confused by the people "upset" over this...it was a "commercial", staged, planned, he did it to himself, knew what he was getting into....plus, he sucks.

Joe Buck reminds me a lot of Ben Stiller. Both had successful beloved fathers. Both think they are funny and attractive but are far from either. Neither realizes that we are laughing at them, not with them.

I feel that Joe goes out of his way "not" to be from St. Louis. I think if he really wanted to, he could be very neutral when he does any national broadcast, and yet still be transparent about being Jack's son, being from St. Louis, and about still living in St. Louis. I think the national audience would actually enjoy knowing that part about Joe.

Tacky and classless. Acting like 12 year olds. I'm embarrassed for the New Yorker who threw the pizza AND the St. Louisan who acted like a douche. -rolling eyes-

That was great! Joe Buck can pull anything off. AND, I can't believe I heard him say an expletive. I didn't even know Joe Buck could cuss! Lol

Yes, he goes out of his way not to be biased the few hours he's on the air. But that doesn't mean he isn't still rooting for them
