Schwagstock's Jimmy Tebeau Gets Five Months Shaved Off Jail Time for Drugs at Camp Zoe

Jimmy Tebeau
Jimmy Tebeau -- who turned his 350-acre farm into a concert venue complete with its own open-air drug market -- will be out of jail earlier than expected.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons lists Tebeau's new release date as September 7, 2014, five months earlier than his original release in February 2015.

Update: Tebeau's lawyer Scott Rosenblum says the early release was negotiated up front during his sentencing, especially since Tebeau cooperated financially by surrendering his farm to authorities.

Tebeau faced a 30-month sentence after he pleaded guilty in June 2012 to maintaining a drug-involved premises -- the federal government's way of saying Tebeau allowed a rampant drug market at Camp Zoe, where he lived with his wife and children. Tebeau was also fined $50,000 and ordered to serve 200 hours of community service.

Tebeau's land was seized by the federal government and sold for $640,000 to Missouri State Parks, which is turning the former hippie haven into a park for fishing, floating and hiking.

Tebeau won't see any of that money since he lost his land after his conviction. The money doesn't even go to Missouri schools, as it would have if a local law-enforcement agency had arrested Tebeau. Instead, all that money goes to the DEA and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, two agencies who investigated the drugs sold at Camp Zoe.

Every music festival in the United States is an "open air drug market"

Jimmy's only crime was holding a festival in Missouri

Meanwhile, the Springfield police let a convicted child molester out of jail with an ankle bracelet and he cut it off and took off to abuse our children again.  He didn't have anything worth anything but Jimmy did.  Disgusting!

This was the most blatant overreach of government I can remember.

A good reporter would have mentioned that those Law Enforcement agencies  DENIED Mr Tebeau the official Law Enforcement presence that he had been provided at ALL of his shows in the past....This would have prevented  Zoe from becoming a drug haven... The real crooks are the ones who benefited in this parody of Justice!!!

Not to mention the security guards were hired through a private third party company (B&D Security) who has been known to occasionally employ off duty police as some security guard providers are wont to do.

Hey! Get off my back, man! This guy had rockin gnarly parties, charged people to camp and enjoy themselves, and put on a concert with his own band. No different from any legit concert venue. The fuzz held years in prison over his head until he plead out for a lesser time and the hopes "the government" wouldn't take his shit. They took it anyway sold it anyway keeping the green for themselves. Anyway Phil Denson, watch out for those syringes when you take your canoe out there. They're nasty.

You "crack" me up Kevin Cook...the alleged incident?...Quote " he pleaded guilty in June 2012 to maintaining a drug-involved premises". You also left out that...quote " sold to Missouri State Parks, which is turning the former hippie haven into a park for fishing, floating and hiking". I actually think that is freaking cool...I really don't have a dog in this fight but always enjoy your one sided views on hot topics like drug abuse and the abuse of freedom ;)

The fact that all the money sold from the land goes to the DEA and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, two agencies who investigated the alleged incident, should trouble each and every American that preaches for Freedom!

Zoe was taken because the govt felt they weren't "getting their cut" from Schwagstock profits...so the IRS got a warrant and walked in the day after spook to see just how much moolah was lying around. They didn't find a bunch of drugs. They found cash. B&D security selling drugs to undercovers is LITERALLY RENT-A-COPS SELLING DRUGS TO REAL COPS. How is that any kind of a case against Jimmy? This country has gone to shit.

I worked with Jimmy in the schwag for a minute, he's a real piece of work. Now it's his turn to get f#cked.

His venue did not 'have it's own open air drug market'. That is irresponsible to print and you know it.

By that metric, the DEA could take possession of everything from Burning Man to Bonaroo, Madison Square Garden to the Staples Center. I would call it an over reach.

He turned it into something far different than the girl scout camp ground it was originally.

I bet that dude serving life in prison for pot possession wishes he had a chunk of land the government could take.

If he was Jon Corzine and stole 1 billion from his clients money that he wasn't supposed to be able to touch is free and with no charges filed I wonder if maybe Tebeau just didn't go big enough. If his profits that he bought the place with didn't come from these alledged drug sales by 3rd parties why was his land taken! Federal Corruption is the answer and the property was stolen....end of story. Private property rights are under attack.

The whole case stinks. Jimmy was never a saint. But he wasn't what the Government portrayed him as.

He did not turn his land into an open air drug market. If you do not know that you should read the case file.

What my comment was referring to was if he gave up $640,000 worth of his property, why only 5 months shaved off?. . . .I would like more time shaved off or the $ go to a better cause.

Should have did the extra 5 months then sold the property himself when he got out.

I went to Camp Zoe multiple times for various events and it was not dangerous in any way. You have no idea what you're talking about. It was a beautiful place with friendly people and everyone had a right to choose what they wanted to do as an individual. If you really think any music festivals are "dangerous", you're either out of touch with reality, old as fuck, or a devout Christian who is scared of the real world.

ldw7611

not an option...the land was the first thing taken, he lost it with no recourse...I think they should have taken the 50K penalty out of the land sale though...but they just want to screw him more with that

ldw7611
ldw7611

There were crimes commited there other than drug sales...one friend lost several possessions because they were stolen by persons unknown... just something that seems to happen when large crowds converge for festivals... sticky fingers have no respect for ownership...they feel possession is 9 10ths of the law and anything they see can be theirs
