A band of teenagers racked up a lifetime's worth of charges while driving in their south-city neighborhood shooting and robbing Sunday night, according to police.

St. Louis Metropolitan Police arrested four teens -- ranging in age from 14 to 18 -- after spotting their car just miles from a drive-by shooting that sent a 29-year-old woman to the hospital.

Their gray van matched the victim's description of her attackers, and investigators found two guns inside, police said.

Police were able to pin three additional crimes on the teens based on their investigation: a shooting into an empty house in the 7000 block of Trainor Court, a robbery in the 3600 block of Neosho Street and property damage at Keokuk Street and Spring Avenue.

Kevin Dang, 17, of the 2900 block of Hereford Street, also faces eleven counts of armed criminal action, eight counts of aiding and abetting a person shooting a firearm, two counts of first-degree assault and a count of first-degree robbery.

Jayven Moose, 18, of the 6100 block of Virginia Avenue, faces eight counts of armed criminal action and eight counts of shooting a firearm from a car at a person, car or building.

The suspects are held on $500,000 cash-only bond.

I cannot find any justifiable reason to acquit such behavior. Perhaps these kids didn't have all the choices everyone has or most have or even some have...but they did have one choice and they chose. Public executions where the guilty are hung from lamp-posts in front of City Hall might slow this kind of behavior down but probably not and it will never happen. The world is a mess - always has been and always will be - the best we can do is make the world around us a little better.

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. Holding grudges and hating people does nothing but poison you from the inside out. It wont bring a loved one back. We ALL do things from time to time that require forgiveness from those around us. Forgive but don't forget...

Probably no fathers or males in their lives. All the same stories over and over and over again. They sharpen themselves on boys with similar lives.

It is not an easy fix, blame the parents, blame society, blame the privileged, blame video games, but at some point we have to blame ourselves. As kids we have all "stolen" something even if it was penny candy at a grocery store. Instant gratification. But when the theft is against you, people tend to feel less empathetic. Shooting someone...just for the hell of it.....that's reckless behavior that is deeper then parenting. And the 17 year old or 18 year old that did that needs to serve time. Don't think the parents get off scott free. No parent ever wants to see their child in prison. They suffer too.

Sorry bro but I can and do feel sorry for both. Of course I feel worse for the victims. Is criminal behavior like that ok in any way? Of course not. But those punks surely weren't full of such hate from birth, nobody is. You are supposed to love everyone not just those that make it easy for you

They committed crimes and need to charged appropriately and without sympathy. They almost killed the girl they shot and she is very lucky to be alive.

I'm sure you are a good guy, but the same criminal type of people shot and killed my friend over $2.38 near Fyler and Morganford a few years ago. These young men literally terrorized the town for three days, stealing a car, robbing and raping kids as they left school before shooting a grown man to death as he walked home from a bicycle race at night. I feel sorry for your "backwards" empathy which is the same bullshit sad excuse that their lawyer will coincidentally feed the courts to ultimately get their charges reduced and or dropped. Seriously, if good parenting led you to whatever cloud you're on... come on down to the real world and hang out sometime and maybe before hand pull your severely wedged head out of the opposite end and smell the roses. Feel sorry for victims not criminals.

ABSOLUTELY! No matter how many people want {and understandably so} to condemn these guys, I ASSURE you that they were not raised right! Seems we need to round up every person in the home and every person that isn't in these homes that SHOULD be as parents, and MAKE THEM PAY TOO. They are the monsters that create this crap, over and over and over and over.....

I agree! When do we start lining up the bank CEO's??

When will they start charging the parents too

It's strange but I feel sorry for these kids. No doubt they were brought up in a broken home with one, possibly neither of their parents around. Little to no love, structure. Few good role models. I'm not saying people aren't responsible for their actions but what sane, well raised people would act in such a way? Sadly, these are the kids our society has been pumping out since the 90's... not everyone but far too many.

Ok- I now understand: Mencer is retarded- no offense to the mentally challenged- but the "man" is a fucking moron.

They aren't even that young... I'm sure they will get the punishment they deserve.

I have an idea, how about they get charged no matter what their ages are and not just slap them on the wrist because of them being so young?! And maybe moms and dads can pay the hospital bills and whatever else damage they did!
