Martin Sigillito, the disgraced St. Louis lawyer and bishop now serving a 40-year prison sentence for orchestrating one of the biggest ponzi schemes to ever befell St. Louis, will be the subject of tonight's episode of CNBC's American Greed, a true-crime series that "examines the dark side of the American Dream."

Riverfront Times first broke the story of Sigillito's scam back in 2010 when St. Louis investors began accusing him of fleecing them in a bogus real estate scheme overseas. In the end, Sigillito was found guilty of defrauding some 100 investors out of nearly $50 million.

CNBC has titled tonight's show on Sigillito "A Wolf in Priests Clothing." Below is a preview of the episode.

It's actually been a banner month for St. Louis con artists on American Greed . Last week's episode was about Darian and Cory Atkinson, whose Wentzville-based auto-warranty company imploded in 2010 following thousands of consumer complaints about fraudulent business practices.
