St. Louis police are on the hunt for a Richmond Heights man who escaped from the St. Louis Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center Sunday afternoon.

Gregg Atkisson, 27, of the 1000 block of Commodore Drive, is a patient at the psychiatric hospital on Arsenal Street, though police haven't released why he was committed there.

On Sunday around 4:15 p.m., a hospital employee saw Atkisson climb a twenty-foot downspout onto the roof of the hospital from a courtyard, according to police.

Once Atkisson was on the roof and began running, the employee lost sight of him because of the height of the building. A search of the facility, which sits south of Arsenal Street between Brannon and Sublette avenues, was unsuccessful.

Atkisson remains on the loose.

Channel 2 reported on this on Tuesday, so let's maybe utilize that edit post option right about now.

Jenna, I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I, too, studied psychology. We just have to keep pointing out bs, such as the title of this article, and being advocates whenever possible. Good luck with your studies!

Thank you Nina. I could not believe that they titled this article like that (although I suppose I should have expected this shit "newspaper" to report it this way). As a psychology student, that title infuriates me. There is no sensitivity for mental illness... It's sickening.
