The Restorative Powers of Pho

Does a body good.

It's been a long first week for Gut Check. Your host moved to a new apartment and had to apologize to Scott Rolen -- but at least he enjoyed a cold beer in the shower.

Yesterday, after bringing the last of my stuff into my new place, I dragged my weary, bruised self into one of my new neighbors, Lemon Grass, for lunch. I didn't even have to think about my order. A bowl of pho. Now I understand why this is a breakfast staple in Vietnam. The fragrant beef broth, the sharpness of the sliced jalapenos and a few squirts of sriracha, the universal comfort-food appeal of a big bowl o' noodles. It got me through the rest of the day until I had a wonderful dinner at -- well, you'll hear all about that in a few weeks.

For now, have a great weekend. Eat something good!
