Did you ever wonder if there were maybe this many recalls before, but you (and we) are just hypersensitive to them now that you cover food every day?
Posted On: Thursday, Nov. 1 2007 @ 8:40PMI'm fairly confident this year has been unusually bad.
Posted On: Thursday, Nov. 1 2007 @ 9:02PMi dont understand. are these people eating the pizza raw or something. cooked in the oven at 300-400 degrees for 10-12 minutes would kill ecoli right.
Posted On: Friday, Nov. 2 2007 @ 2:46AMIf you eat Totino's you deserve to get ecoli. Shell out the extra 50 cents for Red Baron or the next step up.
Posted On: Friday, Nov. 2 2007 @ 10:14AMAnon: It's confusing, I agree, but I'm not sure 10-15 minutes in a 300-400 degrees oven would necessarily kill e. coli. (I'm totally just talking off the top o' my head, here, though.)
Think about roasting a chicken: Depending on the bird's size, an hour or even 90 minutes in an equally hot oven won't necessarily get the internal temperature to a safe level. Comparing apples and oranges, I know, but I doubt those sickened were eating raw frozen pizza.
Any science types want to weigh in with a better explanation?
well for ecoli to die, like say in hamburger, it must reach a temp of 160, as said on the CDC web site. and oven would do this. im guessing they ate those cheap pizzas like totinos by microwaving them. there are small and cook ok in the micro. but 3min in the micro would not kill ecoli.
Posted On: Friday, Nov. 2 2007 @ 7:45PMMy brother in Alabama is having stomach pains now from eating Red Baron frozen pizza with pepproni. We are now trying to find out if there is any complaints on this one.
Posted On: Tuesday, Nov. 13 2007 @ 4:59PMMy daughter and I both had stomach issues last night after eating a red baron pizza- I wish there was a website to log in a suspected case.
Posted On: Friday, Dec. 28 2007 @ 4:03PMI was wondering if any of you found out anything about the Red Baron pizza's. My Husband and I ate one last night and are both sick today? I can't find any recall info on the net but that doesn't mean anything. Thanks!
