Looks like Mama's Coal Pot, the small barbecue stand located behind the Market in the Loop in University City, might have closed. The listed phone number has been disconnected and -- perhaps more tellingly -- the smoker is gone.

What a horrible loss for St. Louis and her BBQ lovers. Mama's Coal Pot was by far one of my favourite restaurants, local or otherwise. It will be deeply missed.
