The Cheesesteak of Suffering and the $175 Burger

Tue May 20, 2008 at 10:55:51 AM

As a tease for this week's review, which features the long-awaited (by someone, I hope) return of Cheesesteak Quest, I offer the Cheesesteak of Suffering, an Internet widget that counts the days since Philadelphia last celebrated a major sports championship.

On the other end of the food spectrum, from the New York Daily News comes word of a restaurant that has introduced a $175 burger. The burger is made from Kobe beef and topped with foie gras, black truffles and gold flakes.

Just to put this in perspective: Three of the Rossini burgers at Burger Bar would cost you $180.

Hubert Keller, consider the gauntlet thrown.
