As part of the Year-End Bonanza, here are some Christmas* gift ideas for the foodie in your life. These are personal favorites, and these posts in no way imply an official RFT endorsement. The makers of these products didn't pay for my "endorsement," either.

My wife and I spotted Foodie Fight while Christmas shopping at Phoenix Rising (6331 Delmar Boulevard) and, having burned through several editions of Trivial Pursuit over our years together, snatched it up for ourselves.

The game is priced just under $20 and comes in a small, handsome box. The objective is straightforward. There are six categories -- from basic kitchen knowledge to "food stars" to table manners -- and the first person or team to answer three questions in each category correctly wins.

The difficulty level of the questions ranges from forehead-slapping easy to quite tough -- especially if, like me, you've never really minded your manners -- so I think hard-core gourmands and amateur enthusiasts alike will enjoy playing. The only drawback is the limited number of questions (six to a card) provided with the game: My wife and I have played three times (I'm ahead 2-1) and have already gone through the deck at least once.

I'd urge you to look for Foodie Fight at a local retailer, but if you must, the game is available from Amazon and other online retailers.
