FoodWire: McCormick & Schmick's Opening 2.24

The much-anticipated opening of St. Louis' first McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant will take place on Monday, February 24 at 4 p.m. The restaurant is located next to the new Barnes & Noble in the West County Shopping Center.

From the press release I received today:
McCormick & Schmick's menu changes twice daily according to each day's fresh seafood deliveries, in keeping with McCormick & Schmick's tradition of offering only the freshest seafood available in season. The menu's "Fresh List" showcases an impressive number of seafood varieties fresh each day. Examples of menu items include: Mahi Mahi with Butternut Squash Cannelloni, Lump Crab Meat and Porcini Cream; Cornmeal Crusted Walleye Pike served with a Sweet Potato Hash; a wide array of fresh Oysters; and Alaska King Crab Legs with drawn butter, sourced from Early Dawn -- the 108-foot, 125-pot capacity fishing vessel as seen on the Discovery Channel's popular reality program Deadliest Catch!
Rex Hale is the executive chef of the St. Louis location. His resume includes time at Kansas City's noted The American Restaurant as well as at restaurants in South Africa and the Caribbean.

McCormick & Schmick's will be open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sun.-Thu. and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Fri.-Sat. The bar will be open till midnight Mon.-Sat. Call 314-835-1300 for more information.
