FoodWire: Bravo! Catering vs. Bravo! Cuicina Italiana

Interesting development with Bravo! to Go, the new café from Bravo! Catering, which opened last month at 7322 Manchester Road in Maplewood. Bravo! to Go is temporarily closed while its owners prepare a new name. According to a letter posted on the front door, the threat of legal action from national chain Bravo! Cucina Italiana, which also opened last month in West County Shopping Center, necessitated the change. Bravo! to Go will reopen as Maravelle Catering and Café. To our valued customers:

In order to avoid a legal battle with the parent company of Bravo! Cucina, locted in West County Mall, Bravo! Catering and Bravo! to Go will be transitioning to a new name: Maravelle Catering and Café. Bravo! Catering has been serving St. Louis for more than three years, but we are unable to compete financially for the right to use the name Bravo! with a large, out-of-town conglomerate. We apologize for any inconvenience and we will be reopening the café as soon as possible. Our catering operation is ongoing and unaffected, so please contact Jennifer to schedule your next event at 314-330-7302.
