FoodWire: Local Harvest Offering Gardening & Food-Prep Classes

foodwire1.JPGLocal Harvest Grocery is offering two series of classes taught by Tender Greens Microfarm owner Annette Beach. Let's go to the press release:
Beach, who has a history of living on and working farms, will bring her knowledge and passion to the classes in two different series, one focused on growing food, the other on preparing food. Each class will include a demonstration, an opportunity to participate in what is being taught, and an item to take home.
The first series is on growing food. Topics include urban vegetable gardening and organic gardening. Classes run 6:30-8:30 p.m. on four consecutive Mondays beginning April 13. The second series is on preparing food, such as making yogurt and butter and growing herbs. These classes run 6:30-8:30 p.m. on four consecutive Mondays beginning May 18.

Classes cost $20 each or $80 for an entire series; buy the entire series and you receive a $10 Local Harvest gift certificate. Space is limited. To reserve a spot or for more information call 314-772-8815.
