FoodWire: Various Restaurant Tidbits
- The Post-Dispatch reports that an employee of Downtown West pub Maggie O'Brien's (2000 Market Street) was shot and killed during a robbery last night. No arrests, as of yet.
UPDATE: As I was writing this, my colleague Chad Garrison posted an item about the killing, including news of a possible link to another apparent homicide last night, on DailyRFT.
- A scoop from George Mahe at Feast: Delmar Loop pizza restaurant and presidential favorite Pi (6144 Delmar Boulevard; Web site) is opening its second location at 10935 Manchester Road in Kirkwood. This is the former location of Two Nice Guys and Trattoria Two, which closed last year.
- Sauce Magazine reports that the Bully (1449 South Vandeventer Avenue) has closed. The Bully had taken over the former Billy Goat Restaurant & Bar space.
- At Off the Menu, Joe Bonwich has news that chef Steve Scherrer, formerly of Maplewood's Arthur Clay's, is now on staff at Mosaic (1001 Washington Avenue; Web site).
