To all who are ripping on this event, get some facts correct first, there wasnt one hillbilly to be found, and if there was they wouldnt be as judgemental as the idiots posting to this event, This was not a publicity stunt for the restaurant, it was a means to support a great cause, (the lift for life academy) which helps inner city kids. This project was to draw attention to the cause, and to have some fun, and to bring the neighborhood together which it did, you would of had to have been there to feel the energy of people helping people.

For all you people with somthing negitive to say , I would like to here what each one of you have done for anyone but yourselves. Tom is always doing things for other people. It is your negitivity that is the problem with St. Louis, there are to many assholes and not enough cool people like Tom, so put that in your corncob and smoke it.

That is so AWESOME! It's good that they used so much bacon because if they didn't, then a bunch of other people would just use it for their mini-sandiwiches. Not making that sandwich wouldn't result in less pigs getting killed, it would result in less pigs being glorified. If you don't eat the meat, someone else will!

What no negative comments about the fact that most of these good people are BIKERS.
Personally I would consider it a major accomplishment to actually get that much bacon cooked and on the sandwich to begin with. How did they keep from eating it all before it was put together.

Last pic in # 5 - the "flame on" one...looool!!! I love it, these BLTs for a good cause should happen all over the states. Dont know if I'd eat much of the sandwich, but definitely fry the bread with a flamethrower! Is that how bacon got cooked too? Awesome!

To all the people who posted negative comments, calling the volunteers fat,or hillbillies, etc, I just have one thing to say. As one of the volunteers and there were many of us, I would like to ask these people, what were you doing at 9:00 on a hot summer Sunday morning? I'll bet you weren't volunteering, helping people you don't even know, so that they might have a better life.

To those who say it wasn't one BLT but several mini BLTs---do you know where we can find a 179.2 foot long oven in which to bake the bread? And for those saying it was a waste of food, it was sold for $5/sammich (which was donated to Lift for Life) and at the end of the day that which was left was donated to local food pantries and shelters. Please get involved next time instead of blasting those who got up early, worked in 95+ degree temperatures and had a great day. You can't ruin it for us. Come next year and you will be welcomed with yummy food, delicious drinks and warm smiles.
