Gourmet would cease publication after its November issue, editor-in-chief and general food-world luminary Ruth Reichl has canceled her visit to St. Louis this week. Reichl was to talk and sign books at an event sponsored by
Left Bank Books on Thursday and then attend a sold-out
Sauce Magazine lunch on Friday. Details on when/if the events will be rescheduled as I learn them.
According to Robert Sietsema, restaurant critic at
Riverfront Times' sister paper the
Village Voice, Condé Nast has given Gourmet staffers only 48 hours to clear their offices.
