FoodWire: New Tasting, Lunch Menus at Araka

​Clayton restaurant Araka (131 Carondelet Plaza; website) has announced a revised lunch menu and a new seven-course tasting menu. The lunch menu (link PDF) includes several new dishes, including spinach-ricotta raviolo, a beef short-rib sandwich and an adobo-rubbed skirt steak. The seven-course tasting menu from executive chef Mark Curran costs $65 per person ($95 with wine pairings).

chile braised, fresh tortillas, salsa verde

Smoked Salmon Flatbread
American caviar, crème fraiche

Mission Fig and Gorgonzola Flatbread
bacon, rosemary, balsamic

Homemade Pappardelle
Missouri lamb ragout, Pecorino Romano

Local Missouri Pork Loin and Crispy Belly
Sweet potato gnocchi, maple syrup, apple, Napa cabbage

Sautéed Skate
Maryland crab, lemon risotto, broccolini, almond brown butter
