Breaking: Kitchen K to Close, Reopen as Pacific Grill

​Just into Gut Check: Pablo Weiss is closing his popular downtown restaurant Kitchen K (1000 Washington Avenue; website) on January 1, 2010. He will renovate the space and reopen it as a restaurant called the Pacific Grill, with current executive chef Bobby Wasabi in charge, and an event space called the California Room.

According to the press release announcing the transformation, "Pacific Grille will feature fresh California cuisine at a similar price point to Kitchen K and will be open for lunch only." The new restaurant will be situated where the K Bar now is, while the event space will take over Kitchen K's dining room.
