FoodWire: Restaurant Tidibts from Niche, Sugo's [Updated]

foodwire1.JPGA few news items for this overhyped snow day: First, Bill Burge reports at STL Bites that Brasserie by Niche (4580 Laclede Avenue; website) is now open for lunch Tuesday through Friday 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and for brunch on Sunday 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

(A sidenote: Gerard Craft recently tweeted that Taste by Niche will now open at 5 p.m. instead of 4 p.m.)

Meanwhile, George Mahe has the news at Feast of a second location for Sugo's Spaghetteria (10419 Clayton Road; website) at 17402 Chesterfield Airport Road. The expansion doesn't surprise me: As I noted in my review of Sugo's, the place seems perfect for these economic conditions, and last year the RFT dubbed it Best Italian Restaurant (Cheap).

Update, 5:20 p.m., 1.7.10: Joe Bonwich checks in with news that the "new" Sugo's will actually be called Babbo's, though it will feature a similar concept to Sugo's.
