New television drama set in New Orleans tries to get the food right. "Treme" airs on HBO, produced by "The Wire" creator David Simon and focuses on a chef. Despite a few food timeline goofs, CNN said that the show's getting the city's food right.

The new food trend in New York City? Going ancient. According to The New York Times, kosher food is the fastest-growing ethnic food. Many converts think that the stringent religious laws applied to kosher food make it safer. Joe Regenstein, a professor of food science at Cornell University who specializes in kosher laws, disagrees.
